Perspective, Perception, Context, Objective & Subjective Truth.
These are not new things; they have always existed.
They are also the cornerstones of balance, compassion and understanding.
They teach us that the world can be wonky, that sometimes there are no winners, that absolutes can be either a distant dream or a present nightmare.
There is rarely a day when there is an absolute right or an absolute wrong, but they also teach us that on rare occasions when there is, we either feel pain or rise higher than we ever could.
This is the nuance of those cornerstones.
We live in a world where winning is more valued than truth, where subjective truth is skewed into objective truth, and where social platforms are controlled by people with an ulterior motive who point us to absolutes that often do not exist.
Balance, compassion and objective truth are most often found in the quiet spaces between subjective opinions.
Whilst social media now more than ever has a grip on us, pushing us to fight between each other in a technological sleight of hand that leaves us all looking away from the real cause of our difficulties and pains, and distracted fighting amongst ourselves, the good news is, it is even easier to find the nuance provided by those cornerstones.
Look to what isn’t being said, look to the space between the polar opposites, and look to the simple truth, that winning for winning’s sake often leaves those subtle, ambiguous moments unexplained, that authenticity sometimes requires discomfort, and that the world, and we are in fact so complicated and complex, that an answer, a solution, or a perfect explanation may well not exist.
If we ignore this, and battle on anyway…
We have missed the point, and will continue the cycle of hate, self-destruction and pain that is the very thing that keeps us from one day answering unanswered or currently unanswerable questions.
Break the Cycle.
Be the solution.
Be the foundation of a better world.
